Filled with ups and downs, life can be a melting pot of experiences, feelings, victories, losses and everything in between. Life isn't always easy so it is reassuring to know that we never have to experience this journey alone. Embrace the Journey will help provide guidance, thoughts, insights, and maybe even some humor along the way as ideas and opinions are shared with the intention to uplift, strengthen, inspire, or simply provide comfort in times we need it most. Life is everything we make it so remember to embrace the journey!
Welcome to ETJ, we are glad you're here! Feel free to check out the videos below; we hope you enjoy the conversations :)
While we will be periodically uploading discussions on relevant topics, please feel free to reach out and let us know if there is a topic you would like us to consider hosting a conversation on.
Topic ideas can include anything from goal setting, promoting diversity and inclusion, to overcoming challenges in your life, establishing supportive relationships, and living your most empowered life, etc.
Basically, if you can think it up, we can consider discussing it on Embrace the Journey.

Being quarantined can be difficult for both children and adults leading to increased stress and anxiety resulting from these uncertain times. In this episode, my friend, Dr. Cicely Walker Brantley, joins me to discuss healthy coping mechanisms. We also look at ways you can help those who may be in an abusive home unable to leave.

I am truly saddened and disheartened by what is going on in our nation and in our world. In the year 2020 you would think we would have made progress towards acceptance and tolerance. Though, the problems we face with racism are unfortunately nothing new. To make matters worse, we have people in elected office who are suppose to be leaders, but who are only adding fuel to the fire by continuing to promote and spread messages of hatred and intolerance. It is past time for change.
Like so many of you, I am truly saddened and disheartened by what is going on in our nation and in our world. In the year 2020 you would think that we would have made progress towards acceptance and tolerance. Though, the problems we face with racism are unfortunately nothing new. To make matters worse, we have people in elected office who are suppose to be leaders, but who are only adding fuel to the fire by continuing to promote and spread messages of hatred and intolerance. It is past time for change to take place, but we have to start where we are now. We have to stand up for injustices taking place on part of racist individuals who feel they are better than others. We have to stand up for the injustices and inequities taking place on part of those who think they are above the law. We have to stand up for our brown and black brothers and sisters and let them know they are not alone in this fight. To those rioting, I know you're tired and you feel like your voice isn't being heard, but please know that destroying your cities and communities is not the answer. As so many people are posting about past riots and wars, we are no better than our ancestors if we continue the cycle of violence and destruction they engaged in over 200 years ago. If you want your voice to be heard, get out and vote! We all have the power to make change happen. It is our responsibility to stand up for what's right and vote out what's wrong. Real change starts with us. Don't riot or protest in the streets in May and June and then stand silent in August and November when its time to show up at the polls. Unified, we can have a nation where all people, regardless of their skin tone, are treated with respect and dignity. All people have a right to live in peace and happiness... to know that when they walk down the street, they don't have to fear for their life or the lives of their children. We owe it to our brown and black friends to stand with them and fight with them for this very basic and essential human right. Please be a a part of the change. Make sure your life and your actions consistently promote a message of acceptance and tolerance; knowing that there is beauty in diversity. Unified is the only way this country will move forward and be great for everyone, not just the select few.
This "Motivational Moment" will be on the importance of owning your power and strength and never letting anyone or anything stand in your way of success, including people who deliberately work against you for their own benefit (because those people are definitely out there). Live strong in your power. Be brave along your journey. Stand up for what's right. Speak truth to power, never give up, continue to move forward in your journey and remember to lift others up along your path to success.
In this segment, Zoe & I explore the vlogging/podcast craze. We discuss the pros and cons of hosting conversations where ideas are shared and suggestions provided absent the input of trained professionals (we ARE trained professionals ;-). We do this all while making a chocolate avocado mousse.
This video is the very first one we have done outside of a real studio, so while this video may be "rough", we are excited to post it as it will remind us of our humble beginnings as we continue to grow.
Life isn't always easy. Sometimes it may feel like a never ending battle, but we have to keep moving forward. We often learn who we are in the most difficult of times. It is when we continue to press on despite the odds, that we arise triumphant and prove to ourselves just how unstoppable we are. It's not WHEN you get to the finish line, but that you ARRIVED at the finish line. Support someone else along the way; you never know how your assistance can make ALL THE DIFFERENCE in their life.
